Philbrook Farm is located in the Androscoggin River Valley in Shelburne, New Hampshire surrounded by the Mahoosuc, Carter Moriah, and Presidential Mountain Ranges. The highest mountain in the northeast, Mt. Washington (6,288), is only a 20 minute drive.


The White Mountains are spectacular in any season, and are full of activities and family attractions. There are trails leading from the inn's door that will take you hiking, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing for endless miles of adventure! The Appalachian Trail follows the ridges of the surrounding ranges and many other AMC trails connect with those leading from the inn. The Randolph Mountain Club also maintains trails nearby in the 773,000 acre White Mountain National Forest.

Relax and rest in one of our 18 guest rooms, furnished with family treasures. A wide choice is available from cozy to spacious, some with king sized beds, and some with private baths.

In summer, a variety of housekeeping cottages are offered on a weekly basis and can accommodate up to 8 people.

Nightly Cottages ~ Meals at the Inn

The Shack is on a hill behind the inn with a magnificent view of the valley. It has a screened porch, main room with a queen bed, sitting area, fireplace, and bath. The cozy log cabin atmosphere makes a perfect honeymoon hideaway.

The Casino is light, bright and airy. It has a main room with 2 full-sized double beds, sitting area, fireplace, bath, screened, and open porches, conveniently tucked in beside the Inn.

Dinner and breakfast, a single serving entree is provided for house guests. We feature home style New England cooking. Everything is prepared from scratch in our kitchen, including The Farm's baked goods. We take pride in serving only the finest meats and local farm fresh vegetables to our "extended family". Special diets will be accommodated if we know in advance. We Philbrooks get enjoyment from delighting your palate, and urge you to send your compliments to the cook, so we can continue making more of your favorites.

Nightly rates range from $120 to $150 per night/double occupancy.
Breakfast and Dinner are included in all rates!
Rates vary according to type of accomodation.
Child and single occupancy rates are available.
NH room & meal tax and gratuity are not included.

Weekly Cottage Rentals
        (maximum occupancy 8 persons)

Birchcliff is nestled under a cliff and provides 3 bedrooms and a bath upstairs, and downstairs; a living room, kitchen, bedroom, bath and screened and open porches. Sit out on the verandah and enjoy the view!

The Brakes has 2 bedrooms and a bath upstairs, and downstairs; a living room with fireplace, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, bath and screened porch.

Undercliff has 3 bedrooms and a bath upstairs, and downstairs; a living room with fireplace, kitchen, 1 bedroom, bath and screened porch. It also has a dining room!

The Lodge near the inn has 5 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, dining room, kitchen and living room with an open and screened porch. A private place to rest.

Housekeeping Cottage are $800.00 per week
NH room & meal tax is not included.
All cottage rentals are available from late Spring to early Fall only.
Pets are permitted in the cottages.
Philbrook Farm Inn is a BYOB establishment.

All in all, a quiet place to get away from it all, whatever the season!

Children are welcome and staying at Philbrook Farm Inn will be enjoyable, especially if we all remember that for our times together we'd like to maintain harmony.
